Name Info Commander Sharkey Ward *Signature Value : £50 (matted) Commander Nigel 'Sharkey' Ward DSC AFC. Born in Canada in 1943. Joined the fleet air arm in 1962. During the Falklands war, Commander Sharkey ward commanded the 801 Naval Air Squadron based on HMS Invincible during April to June 1982. Commander Sharkey Ward flew a total of 60 missions during the Falklands campaign and scored three air to air kills, as well as taking part in or witnessing the destruction of 10 aircraft. Commander Ward was also the leading night pilot and for his gallantry received the Distinguished Service Cross. After retiring form the Royal Navy he wrote the book 'Sea Harrier over the Falklands, A Maverick at war'. Name Info Air Marshal Sir Peter Squire DFC AFC (deceased) *Signature Value : £35 (matted) Air Marshal Sir Peter Squire began his operational flying with No. 20 Squadron flying Hunters in Singapore. He became an instructor on the Hunter before flying Gnats as a member of the Red Arrows; later returning to operational flying on the Harrier. In 1981 he took command of No. 1 Squadron at RAF Wittering and during the Falklands conflict, led the Squadron into action for which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He stayed with the Air Force, becoming Chief of Air Staff in 2000 before retirement in 2003. He died on 19th February 2018. John Farley OBE (deceased) *Signature Value : £30 (matted) John Farley is a well known test pilot who has flown all versions of the Harrier family. After an engineering apprenticeship at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough in 1950, he joined the RAF for pilot training. He completed a tour flying Hunters, and after a time as flying instructor at Cranwell, he joined the Empire Test Pilots School at RAE Bedford. As project test pilot on the P1127 in 1964, he started what was to become 19 years of Harrier test flying. In his career he has flown over 80 types of aircraft and in 1990 became the first western pilot invited to fly the Russian Mig-29. He died on 13th June 2018.
